The goal of this book is not to interpret the chapters of the Holy Quran, as there already exist major books on interpretation such as Al Tabari or Ibn Katheer. The purpose of this book is to address a situation that I noticed occurs every Ramadan. Many Muslims from all over the world attempt to read the Holy Book, from start to finish, before the auspicious month ends. This is a good and noble deed with great reward. However, I have noticed that many Muslims are simply reading the Holy Quran mechanically without giving a thought to the meanings within each surah or even recognizing the purpose in which it was gifted to mankind. This especially holds true with our Muslim youth. I feel that they are honestly trying, but the meaning proves elusive to them.
It saddens me to have come across Muslims who, deep down, do not understand the Holy Quran or mistakenly believe that they do not have to understand it. I felt compelled to act and offer this humble work to bridge the gap of understanding between our Muslim youth and the Holy Quran. This book convinces the reader of a correlation between every single surah in the Holy Book. It goes on to demonstrate that each surah has a specific subject and purpose. And within each surah, the verses are connected in such a wondrous way that the human heart is moved and understanding is achieved. In this way, the reader begins to love the Holy Quran and faith is increased.
It also drives home the message that the Holy Quran is the direct word of Allah, The Wise, and that had it come from another source there would have been much discrepancy therein. Each surah fulfills a purpose and is named appropriately, such as Al-Baqara or Al Imran. Subsequently, the surahs that come before and after each other are also interconnected since the order of the chapters of the Holy Quran were an inspiration from Allah. Understanding each surah, and its placement in the Holy Quran, helps our youth to understand Allah’s intention and what our Lord expects from us. Even if each verse or individual word is not perfectly understood, understanding the purpose of the surah will assist in understanding the Holy Quran.
This book is very useful in providing the basic principles in understanding the Holy Quran. It serves as a guide to the preservers of the Holy Quran and those interested in the science of interpretation.
I have utilized the following methods:
- Determine the purpose of each surah.
- Present the verses, which confirm this purpose.
- Show the relation between the name of each surah and its purpose.
- Indicate a relationship between the surahs situated before and after each surah.
- Choose select verses for commentary.
The purpose of this book is to serve as a tool to help our Muslim youth understand and reflect upon the verses of the Holy Quran, as well as draw correlations between the various surahs.
هذا الكتاب ليس كتاب تفسير، ولا يهدف إلى تفسير آيات القرآن بالتفصيل، ومن أراد ذلك فليرجع إلى أمهات الكتب في التفسير، كتفسير الطبري وابن كثير وغيرها من كتب التفاسير التي تمتلئ بها مكتبتنا الإسلامية... لكن فكرة هذا الكتاب مختلفة، وهدفه مختلف.
فكرة هذا الكتاب تراودني منذ عشر سنوات، تحديداً رمضان من كل عام... حيث يقبل المسلمون في كل العالم الإسلامي على قراءة القرآن وختمه في شهر رمضان المبارك. لكنني كنت أحزن كثيراً عندما أجد هذه الرغبة الصادقة لقراءة القرآن دون أن يرتبط بها فهم واضح لأهداف هذه السورة، ولماذا نزلت، وما هي الرسالة التي توجّهها لنا هذه السورة. وبالتالي كنت أجد الناس يقرأون القرآن ويستشعرون في قرارة أنفسهم أن معاني القرآن غريبة عنهم، بل قد ينظر لها البعض على أنها طلاسم غير مفهومة، يجب علينا قراءتها دون إدراك مغزاها وأهدافها. وقد يفهم البعض معاني كلمات الآيات، ولكنه يشعر أن آيات كل سورة متناثرة، ليس لها أية علاقة تربطها ببعضها، وأنه لا يوجد هدف واحد للسورة تنتظم فيه جميع آياتها. ومن هنا بدأت الفكرة: أن نقوم بعمل متواضع في سبيل كسر الحواجز بين شباب الأمة وبين كتاب الله.
هذا الكتاب يؤكد لقارئ القرآن أن الترابط بين آيات كل سورة ترابط وثيق، و أن كل سورة لها موضوع واحد وأهداف محددة، وأن آيات السورة قد تبدو لأول وهلة متناثرة غير مترابطة؛ لكنك إن أمعنت النظر، وعرفت هدف السورة وموضوعها، عرفت أن آيات السورة متصلة اتصالاً عجيباً، يوصلك بقوة لإدراك هدف السورة، مما يزيدك حباً لكتاب الله وإيماناً بأنه تنزيل من حكيم خبير (ولو كانَ من عندِ غيرِ اللهِ لوجدوا فيه اختلافاً كثيراً) وبذلك نرى أن كل سورة من سور القرآن هي عبارة عن وحدة متكاملة، تحقق هدفاً واضحاً، وكل آية تخدم هذا الهدف من طريق واحد أو من عدة طرق. وحتى اسم السورة له علاقة بهذا الهدف (ومن هنا نفهم سبب تسمية سور القرآن، كالبقرة وآل عمران ويونس والنمل...) وليس هذا فحسب، بل أن كل سورة لها علاقة قوية بما قبلها وما بعدها من السور، لأن ترتيب سور القرآن هو أيضاً وحي من عند الله، وبذلك نستخلص أن سور القرآن كلها عبارة عن سلسلة واحدة مترابطة، بحيث انك لو فهمت هدف أو أهداف السور القرآنية، ستجد أنك قد فهمت مراد ربنا من هذه السور وماذا يريد منك الله في هذا الكتاب، حتى لو لم تفهم معنى كل آية وكل كلمة على حدى، لأنك إذا فهمت الأهداف الكلية للسور فتكون قد فهمت القرآن كله، وبذلك يكون هذا الكتاب مفيداً للعامة والبسطاء، ليعطيهم المبادئ الأساسية لفهم القرآن، كما يكون في نفس الوقت موجّهاً لحفظة القرآن والمهتمين بعلم التفسير، كمحاولة متواضعة مني لعرض المحاور والموضوعات الأساسية لسور القرآن،
وبهذا سيكون منهجنا في عرض الخواطر القرآنية على الشكل التالي:
- تحديد هدف السورة.
- عرض الآيات المؤكدة لهذا الهدف.
- بيان علاقة اسم السورة بهدفها.
- إظهار علاقة السورة بما قبلها وما بعدها.
- اختيار بعض الآيات للتعليق عليها.
ولا بد من التأكيد على أن هذا الكتاب ليس تفسيراً، فكل ما فيه هو اجتهاد ومحاولة لمساعدة الشباب نحو المزيد من الفهم والتدبر لآيات القرآن وترابط سوره.
